I thought riding the RK was great fun. To me my RK is just so awesome, there is nothing I would rather ride. The sound, the performance and handling is sublime.
I owned a sport bike and a RK for years, and found it very frustrating. When I was on the sport bike I found that it was just so much faster than I could think that it was frustrating. And it was uncomfortable, I hated the riding position.
Thats why I built this bike. I wanted 11 second performance (which is fast enough for me) without compromising comfort or 2 up touring.
Mission Accomplished.

i have been through 20 bikes..
i love the street glide for touring and 2 up duties and i dont forsee me getting rid of it unless i upgrade to newer model year...
but for 1 up and pure adrenaline im gonna have to purchase another bike. i knew i would have to eventually, but i figured for how much 2 up touring i do it wouldnt bother me to much not having a sport bike of some sort.
i find it a struggle in how to mod the SG.. at first i went for the looks, which i loved the looks, but the handling suffered badly, so i re did the suspension with more performance oriented parts, which also gave me a better ride quality as well. but then some comfort items also hinder the performance aspect for me. the 10" monkey bars dont feel as confident in the corners, but they are better for comfort on long hauls. i hated the stock small wheels, so i went with wider and bigger in the rear and bigger in the front, looks a ton better, and ride quality didnt change that drastically, handling changed a little but i can still throw it in the bends well.
i mean i love draggin parts of this bike in the twisties, but it isnt no dragging a knee at 80+ on the track lol
i miss track days, and i miss the superior handling and light weight of a sportbike.
so sometime in the near future ill be picking up ducati monster, R6, supermoto, or something of those sorts..

Where's the trailer, you know the one that you haul you gonads in LOL, dude your crazy but I love that you put that thing in the wind and even pass some of those other bikes on track. Did any of them come up and say that thing hauls azz. They should have if they didn't. 127mph isn't nothing to sneeze about at all, I just wonder what the top speed would be?

You must tape or remove your mirrors. Next time out I will just remove them.
Novice riders like me need to focus on the track ahead, not who is behind them. By the time you take your eyes off the track and check your mirrors and look back you can miss a braking point or turn in point and get yourself into trouble.
It is the responsibility of the rider overtaking to remain 7 feet from the other bike and pass safely.
Its a good system - you know that they guy you are trying to pass has no idea where you are and it is up to you to watch the line he is riding and make the pass. If you cant do it then you dont, he aint gonna let you around.
Another tip - Its really important to not watch the bike you are following, its a great way to crash. If you watch the bike you are following you are going to enter the corner at his turn in speed and not yours. Watch the track and look thru his bike, dont focus on it.

Very nice and makes perfect sense to ignore mirrors absolutely.
