Default Oil Change, removed wrong plug

I removed the wrong plug yesterday while doing a oil change, I removed the one next to the mag plug. I know duh. I finished the oil change, put all the plugs back in. I blue lock tighted the plug back in, what should in be torqued to? Is there something else I should of done after making this mistake?

Don't worry about it, no harm done. I don't know what the torque is, but don't over tighten it, that one will mess up easy. If it does not leak, it is good.

NO NO NO. That plug is a tapered fitting & should only be snugged with teflon tape or sealer, NOT locktite!! DO NOT--I REPEAT--DO NOT torque this plug down. Tighten it very gently until snug or you will be in a world of CRAP when the case boss strips out or cracks. A tapered fitting can very easily strip or crack your case! That plug is never to be messed with--IOW--FORGET THAT IT'S THERE!

Buy the manual, and make friends with your service manager & ask lots of ?? before you proceed with anything if you're not familiar!

Yep, the danger with that bolt is over tighening it. Not sure the loctite was a good idea or not, but doesn't matter now. If it does not leak and you did not break anything putting it back in, then I would leave it as is, it will not hurt anything.

Also, it is not a crystallized egg shell. You can take it back out and redo it if you want, probably not neccesary though.

Like Dickey says; get yourself a service manual. Makes things much easier and gives you confidence when you start wrenching on it.

Is that the place where one would install the sensor for the HD oil temperature unit?

For those who may not know, there is a torque value chart at the beginning of every chapter for all fasteners covered in that chapter of the service manual.
