There is about an inch between the AC cover and the breather tubes

From what I have read on 2007 and newer you would probably want to get it remapped, but do not have to. Or get a tuner from FuelMoto or others and remap it yourself using maps provided by FuelMoto or others.
On my 2006, I just installed the screamin eagle air breather provided by fuelmoto (which should be pretty close in performance to this unit) and my fuel economy dropped pretty substantially (4-5MPG). I added an EFI tuner and some maps from FuelMoto and the fuel economy is back close to where it was. But 2006 was a significantly different bike than your 2009 from a fuel management/engine management perspective.

I will get with FuelMoto on the best application for my bike.

Always hoped Jamie or Harley man would have answered your question. I would like to know the answer myself.
