True duals or X-pipes?
#41
Bassani 2 x 1 x 2
1st pic is my current set up:
Rush true duals, Arlen Ness air cleaner,
and thunder max.
These pipes have poor ground clearance.
You can see that pipes are spaced/seperated and
lower than the frame.
I scraped the front lower heat shield
a few times on last trip to the Dragon.
On stock header the 2 tubes come together
at cat much higher and tighter.
The V+H power dual tubes have tube separation and
and higher total height and also
hang lower than the frame.
The angle of the X is tilted out at an angle,
scraping before anything else.
2nd/3rd pics is Bassani 2 x 2 extreme header.
that uses the stock heat shields.
4th pic shows how much better fit these pipes
are than the V+H.
Much better ground clearance than the V+H power duals
The stepped X crossover on the Bassani is
rotated and tilted to fit in same spot as stock cat and
has welded fasteners for exact swap out of stock
You can see that the bottom of the header is above the frame.
This setup gives the stock look, great clearance
and the 'No Cat' sleeper results.
Installing tomorrow,
will get back with performance comment update.
