I wonder what the failure rate is for the guys with floorboard extensions? I had them on my 07 and had no issue. Just bought some for my new to me 09.

I can't see how anyone can ride without them. Matter of fact, when I was just sitting in the garage and wondered why it felt funny, looked own and it hit me..extensions!!

Dunno. I wear 13's and I guess I just never thought about it or wondered what it would be like needing or wanting more.

That could have broken off when your OL stood up on it to adjust her drawers, or something. That's why the MoCo now uses grade 8 bolts on floorboards and a few other places. Don't go cheap on the fasteners if you replace them.

Get in the habit of nut checking everything, just like a racecar.

My OL only got to ride on it 1 time before this happened. And I 100% agree with you and always do replace any that are placed under torque with new G8's, no matter what. Just not worth the aftermath headache.

Sorry to hear that.....always check the fasteners during the periodic maintenance interval....this will help to avoid an issue like this in the future.
