I just bouhgt a new limited last thursday , and I want too take my seat apart and put the heat strips in and restich it back up . It already has heated grips , and now want the seat . Does anyone know where I can get a kit for this . I do not see the the need for a new 699.00 seat from harley , I like mine and it fits me good . Does anyone sell a kit for this . Thanks Kenny

Seatheater.com from Check corporation is what Mean City Cycles uses, mine works fantastic 33000 miles later, used it riding in to work this morning!

I did exactly what you are talking about to one of my stock seats on my 2010 Limited. It works great for chilly weather riding.
Do a search on ebay. You can buy a 2 piece hook-up designed for a car seat. One section is for the seat, and the other section is for the upright, or back part of the car seat. Two sepearte panels come in one "kit" with all the wires, fuse, and a HI-off-LO switch.
You use one section for your drivers part of your seat and the other section for your passenger section of the bike seat. They are cabon fiber wiring and can be trimmed to fit/ wrap around the contours of your bike seat. They come with self-stikem heavy duty tape strips attached to the heating pads( you peel the backing off) and will attach right to the foam on you bike seat. Really a pretty simple process once you get the seat cover removed. A good staple gun or pneumatic tacker/nail gun is needed to get your "upholstery" secured back to the seat frame.
The hardest part for me was wiring the power to it. I just powered it directly to the battery, instead of through the On/Off ignition switch ( which I should have taken the time to figure out and do it properly )
Now, I have to remember to turn the seat heater off after I turn the bike off, and not walk away leaving the seat heater powerd up.

Anyway, it works like a charm. One of the best mods I've ever done. It heats up really fast on HI , then you have to run with it on the LO setting or your *** will fry! My wife loves it. Keeps that tushy nice and warm.

I just found my receipt from ebay.
It was a well spent 55 bucks. model # SH-R-01
The name of the seller is listed as Emergencyy Stuff...in Potomac, Maryland

Hope this helps.

I did'nt. The switch just hangs out under the edge of my seat, loosely like my battery tender connector. It can be tucked up under the side edge of the seat if I want to. It can be mounted properly and securely, but I just have'nt gotten around to doing it in a more permanent fashion yet. When I have time I will wire it through the ignition so in only powers up with the key on and drill a hole to mount the switch securely.
