I'd suggest thinking about having the cat removed from your header ( search for the tutorial here)-- then try with your existing mufflers-- might just do the trick at minimal expense.
Holy crap - Should have mentioned that myself... Made a bigger difference than the mufflers themselves.

Pipes will drown out your stereo when running through the gears, but 90% of the time your stereo will be competing with wind noise. Just throwing it out there......
I am looking to put some new slip on mufflers on my 11 Street Glide. Does anyone have a particular brand to recommend? I am looking for a good rumble, but i still want to hear the radio...
Thanks
Chad
Have had good fit and long life out of my Rush slip ons. I also reccomend the 1.75" baffle as a good balance of sound and perf gain. I would not go larger then the 2.0" baffle. I have used these on 3 different Harleys and good overall muffler for the price. I used the tip compatible on my current bike with the angle cut multi position billet tips. They really look good and give me different options (look).
I am still going back and forth between Rush and Vance an Hines. Had the V&H on my Deluxe and loved them. Rush has been very helpful when I call with questions. Bike had the Screaming Eagle Fat Shotz on it when I bought it. A little too quiet for me.
