Default Heated Gear

Is the HD heated gear worth the money or is there something better. I left a GW for a Limited and don't want to stop riding just because it's cold

Absolutely! start with a jacket liner and gloves plus the dual thermostat controller. You can add pants liner and socks if you want later. Jacket liner and gloves gets me down in the 30's and pants liner in the low 20's. Go with Gerbing, same stuff without the HD label ( read markup). If you can wait til next year you should be able to get some deals in the spring

Default warranty

The last I checked Gerbing's had lifetime warranty on electrics, HD only one year.

Check around for both HD and Gerbings, because I can tell you from buying gear several times that you never know who has the best prices at any given time. I have some of both, but I find that I can nearly always find the HD branded items for the same price if not cheaper.

As far as the warranty goes, it is the exact same warranty, lifetime for the HD also, on electrics, Gerbings warranties the HD also and they do not change their policy just because it says HD on it.

Just ordered the new HD hybrid jacket and heat controller made by Gerbing. Got a great price @ Surdyke and they had free shipping. Got my connections for the electric on Ebay, as they were cheaper. No fan of freezin here.

It's the electric gear (I have the jacket liner and gloves) that makes it possible to ride year-round here in Atlanta. Mine is from Gerbings, but as others have said, the HD gear is made by them. The Gerbings website often shows "sold out" of some items as winter arrives, so you may want to shop early.
