Don't think that you can use both..
One or the other..
Suggest that you use the 1/2 moon for gap between the fairing and the lowers.

Can't answer if they do a better job than the Lowers cause I took off the Lowers right away and never really tried them(they wouldn't fit with my Forward Controls). It was in the Summer though so it wasn't a big deal.

Pastor John, they will not work with the Lowers.

Just one other thing, I have the Mustache Engine Guard, don't know if that makes a difference with clearance issues or not, but I've got plenty of room full Lock to full Lock.

They work with the lowers. 2 friends have them on their Ultras and they love them. Here is a pic of an Ultra with them on. They're cut at the bottom because the guy didn't like how they look at full length

just happened to see this post. i think i'm one of the two guys frenchbiker mentioned. i have on 09 ultra and HD says these wind deflectors won't work. that is correct w/o slight modifications. elongate the top holes in the deflectors and pull the passing lamp bracket out away from the forks and they will fit and you will get just get full fairing lock.
they make a huge difference significantly reducing air coming up into the face area. the lowers do a great job keeping cold air off the legs.
and besides - its more chrome.

E glide goodies now have vented lowers that fit perfect with lowers on a ultra, with out any kind of mods, I have had them on my 05 Ultra, and on my 09 ultra, took them off once in summr, but the wind buffering was so much more I put them right back on.
