I like the Fox Creek leather jackets. If you want heavy, warm, made in USA, quality leather.

I just checked and it does go below freezing in his part of Texas occasionally.
All week the lows are forecast in the low 40's.
it's not the 28 we had here this morning but it's colder than I would have guessed for Texas.
Shows that you can't generalize, just like a lot of Americans think all of us up here in Canada have dogsleds.

If you plan on riding for the rest of your life, invest in a good set of leathers that will last you the rest of your life.

It gets cold down here. It was 38 here this morning when I rode in at 3:30, with 89% humidity. And right now, it's still 38 degrees, but the humidity did drop to 83%. Kind of balmy.

I am not familiar with the River Road Leathers.

But my leathers were made by Langlitz.

During the Winter I wear a padded Columbia style with a cossack(madrin) collar. The jacket is a front over lay configuration so that with the collar, the seal very good in very cold weather. I also use Under Armour garments under the jacket.

In warmer weather I use a Columbia with a dress collar because I can fold back the jacket.

I also use a Padded cossack collar Cascade for early fall.

For colder weather I would lean to what ever model that they have to offer in the Banded-Cossack-Madrin type collar.

Good luck hope this helps. Also under armour tech fabric under garments are worth the money.
