Road Glide Audio Question
I am trying to plan out my stereo and have alot of options and questions.
One thing for sure is that im going to sell the HK radio from my bike(2012 RGC) and replace ith a Biketronics kit with Alpine headunit. I think I have decided to use the RF 344 amp.
The big question is speakers. I have always used JL audio stuff but I really dont see anyone mentioning JL as an option for their bikes. I see alot of Focal, RF, JM, etc. I think that I will be using a 6.5 Coax in the stock spot and like Bagger Nation does, put a 6.5 facing the forks.
Here is a few questions.
1. Do speakers and head unit need to be marine? I really wont ride in the rain unless I get caught in something unexpected, and when washing the bike I can be cautious of where the water goes.
2. I was thinking of using coax in stock spot and using a component speaker facing the forks. The 6.5 would face the forks, but I would put the tweeter in two of the gauge locations(volt/air) to get maximum sound aimed at me.
3. What is the best speakers to get good bass? I know that I will never get bass cause these are not subs but what is going to have the best response? Has anyone tried a 6.5 sub? I know that Focal and JL both make them.
