Default My Ohlins experience.

I was considering new rear shocks and decided to go with Ohlins from Motorcyclemetal.com. After talking with Howard, I picked the separated version #3, #1. They come generally set up for my personal specs then after an easy installation, off I went. I immediately notice the lack of sharp hits on the road and a much smoother ride. I rode about 500 miles then started with the sag and dampening adjustments. I now have it set to ride great solo or with a passenger then after a quick couple of clicks on the dampener adjustment and a turn and a half on the spring preload we are set for a fully loaded tour. After about 3k miles the difference in ride is so noticeable I would have to say this is the best upgrade to my 09 FLHX by far. Howard gave me a great deal and his tech knowledge was a big help. Do not hesitate on the Ohlins from Howard at Motorcyclemetal.com

Not to sound like a broken record, but you simply can't go wrong with these shocks.

They are different lengths of the same style of shock. I have #3-3, which is stock length and they are the third longest of 4 different lengths. Read all about them on Howard's website here!

I did try and read on the website. I just bought some 3-3s and it raised the bike a little. Wondered if I should of went with 3-2s.

You can lower them a little, by undoing the blue locknut at the bottom of each shock and screwing in the bottom mounting eyelet. I've done that to mine now. Take care because that nut is alloy.

Default Ohlin Shocks

I just put #3,#3 on my 08 Ultra. I went with the 13" stock lengths because my new Corbin reach seat lowered my body position enough to allow me to use the full stroke length of the #3 shocks. I can't say enough myself about how helpful and knowledgeable Howard is. You can't go wrong.
