Default 18" versus 21" Front Wheel 2010 SG

I love the way my 2010 SG handles with stock wheels and I also love the look of a 21" wheel on the front. I want to get a custom wheel for the front, but I don't want to alter the handling in any way. Is this possible with a 21" wheel or will I have to stay with the 18" on the front.

Thanks............bbs15.........

This topic has been discussed alot. The way I understand it is that low speed turning is affected when going with a 21". I was told that by lowering the front suspension 1 or 2 inches all will be cured. I just ordered my 21" from Coastal Moto today and I be installing Progressive Monotubes -2". I have the Progressive's already, just waiting for the front wheel. I'll post pics when its completed. Here's the wheel link:

Tagged for info, I put a set of 21/17" wheels on my bike and lowered the front, and it just ain't right yet, starting to get frustrating, almost to the point of putting it back stock........

I put a 21" on mine and left the rear with the stock 16". I have not lowered the front yet. I have put around 100 miles with the 21" and although it feels different, I got used to it within the first 5 miles. Not sure if I'm going to lower the front 1" yet as I'm 5'11" and have no problem putting my feet on the road when stopped. Also, PM just came out with a longer kickstand for bikes with 21" or 23" tires.

IMO your height is going to be a major deciding factor.

I'm running Coastal Moto 21" Titan with stock 16" rear (plan to chrome and get extended bags) with the progressive monotube -2", bike handles great.

I will be lowering my front when I put on a 21". Still haven't decided what size back wheel to get yet. Any suggestions?

Do a couple searches. This has been discussed a lot before. The short version is some think it affects handling, others say that don't notice any difference.

After doing 3 different 21" combos, my opinion is that I noticed a big difference and have now chosen to go no bigger than 18" (maybe 19" Agitator) but never a 21" again.
