Default 2011 Road Glide, frt end wobble 40-45 mph, bad ECU

Hey All

I purchased a 2011 road glide ultra on 10-15-11. 382 miles now. It has the front end wobble at 40-45 decel hands off or just loosly gripped. Back to the dealer, they said they put the fall away swing back to roadglide spec 1-1 1/2. got it back NOT FIXED still does it. So now dealing with the owner, several managers and nothing yet. They told me I can take it home, the next day took it 5 miles, stopped at a store got back on turned the bike on and the ECU died. Called the dealer and had it towed back. still in ther shop 2 days now still working on it.

Also found out about the dunlap tire issues with the 408's. crazy.

Question to you all is there any dealer in PA, MD, VA or anywhere for that matter, that really knows these issues and can fix them???...Thinking of getting the Lemon Law form filled out and going that route.

BTW, I called Harley corporate...they were completly usless. Customer service is rediculas. They made a reference number for my problem. there answer is go out there have fun, enjoy the bike and break it in....good grief!!!....Geee anyone think about safty these days??...

Anyway...hope I can find some help somewhere out there.

thanks for reading....

What issues with the 408's are you referring to? The front 407's had issues and were recalled.

My front tire is a 408, they have been replaced by dunlap "Elite" tire, wondering if the 408 tire could contribute to the wobble...heard they they are not good tires.

The front end decel problem has been noted by just about all of us. One one forum it was noted that with the trunk removed there isnt a wobble at all. I have more than a few Road Glide buddies and we all are passing on the info we get on this. All of us have 2011 Road Glides and mine is going back to the shop again for another check. It has been noted by all that it happens right at 40 down to about 35 wtih hands off the bars..

The wobble is the tires. It's a common problem with big bikes with soft compound motorcycle tires. Very common thread on Honda GoldWing/Valkyrie forums too. Dunlop E3s and Avons both do it, but not every tires, seems to be just some batches.

All sorts of things get blamed.. highway pegs, windshields, tourpacks.. this list goes on.

Then you replace the tire and the problem goes away. Go figure.

I am sure that if push comes to shove, they will point out never ride with hands off the bars to legally cover there azz. A wheel out of balance can cause this also. Mike

I had a slight wobble when my bike was new, nothing really dangerous, but now I have a 21" front and monotubes, it doesn't exist anymore.
