Default Aftermarket bars for an 09 Street Glide- Ideas????

I have a 2009 street glide with a 2011 seat with stock bars. After riding for about 100 miles I get a lot of pain in between my shoulder blades. Everybody I talk to says taller bars should help reduce the amount of pain.

I am wondering what other have tried and what works?

As for me, I am 5'11' tall. I can only assume that everybody’s own build makes a difference on what works and what doesn't.

I'm 5-10, I had 14s on my Heritage, and 14's are going on my Road King before riding season next spring. Everyone's different, but I found 14s to be very comfortable.

The most popular bars for the street glide right now are the Yaffe Monkey Bars. I am running 10" bars and love em!

I.had a set of of 12 pyo bars put on y streetglide. I am 6' and they feel good sitting on the bike
to haven't had the chance to ride it yet due to some tech issues. My hands were right at shoulder level maybe even a half inch lower. I like the look. I sat on a bike with wild1 14 apes and they felt awesome too.

Sit on your bike and close your eyes, then put your hands up where they are comfortable. Open your eyes and see where your hands are. What ever size bars you need to get your hands to that spot is what you should buy.

Also, if you plan on changing seats, do it before you get new bars.

Try Hill Country Custom bars, I've had good luck with two sets so far.

They are telling you wrong, IMHO. We have another recent post on this very subject.

In my experience you CAN adjust your current bars to give you a more comfortable ride. Save your money for gas and take a little time experimenting with adjustments. I suggest you move them towards you, so you don't reach for them and can relax your shoulders. Worked for me and I can do long tours in complete comfort.

The higher bars tend to help you unconciously sit up straighter reducing the hunchback syndrome in riding. So whatever you can do to move your arms close to shoulder height and bars closer to you to prevent reaching will improve your riding comfort. I like the look of the pyo's but you can find some cheaper look alikes if you shop around now.
