Default Cam, Cam, Cam!! I wanna change mine too.

Currently have an06 Ultra with a 95" in it with 203 cams (thanks to Kirby) and like the setup but am wondering what a set of 255s would do for me vs the 203s. I have a set of 253s on the shelf but I see a lot of people seem to be high on the 255s. I see some beadwork in the future but prolly not right now.

I have never changed them myself but am going to do this one I think. Been reading and watching and it is something I can sure do and would enjoy it. Ideas please on the difference in the cams and always other manufactures cams compatible to the 255s wouldbe nice to know.

I went from 203's to Andrews 26G cams. Great low end/mid range torque for touring IMO.

The 255's should give even stronger low end grunt than the 26's..

There are many other choices to tempt you too I'm sure.

I don't think the 255's will fit.

Justed checked, he's right. 203's have a .510 lift. 255's are .550.

Would they not work if he had the new style cam plate, just thinking out loud.

Inner bearings are different size. Old is B148 and the new are B168's.

Head work is required to accomodate valve lift. ( The lift is high enough to smack the rocker boxes.)
The cam has to be for a 99-06 to match the inner bearing size, and the adaptor plate won't therefor change anything.

what are you trying to achieve? Low end grunt, top speed, where do you want to improve over the 203s?
