I installed that option within 2 days of my recent UC purchase. Easy install, looks and works great.

1st thing I did to my Ultra was get the kit to make it push button but still look keyed, about $20 from the HD dealer, yes it works great. I think I can still lock it if I leave it somewhere over nite but have never done that.

Works great and looks good too. That was the first thing i did when i got the bike. I have the security fob which i have to carry with me anyway but now i dont have to get off the bike and dig in my pocket to get the key. Very easy to install too

One of my first mods as well. Well worth it. Works great, super convenient.

I bought the one that you can still lock. Kinda tough to push the little button to release the door but works OK I guess.

junk- I've had 2 fall apart-- one at home--- the other 800 miles away with a near empty tank

--which is when you will find out.

the linkage mechanism is held in place with a brass set pin which can vibrate out and the center fall, leaving the latch in the notch

was eventually able to get a brass feeler gauge through to release the latch and get gas.

look at it this way, you carry your keys anyway--- getting them out every 200 miles is no big deal and if touring you need to get off and stretch.

they may last years-- but when they go, they go at the worst time

If this is the one that locks yes it is not very good system but the newer one that is just a button works good. the spring mechanism is at the hinge and is tons better than the other one.

I didn't see the point in getting the lockable option. I've never had gas stolen from any vehicle. And if somebody wants to steel gas, I would think a cage with 20 gallon tank would be a better target for them.
