Default If you were the exhaust nut.......

Where the hell would you fall and hide when I took you off?!

Got the V&H ProPipe ordered from Fuel Moto (awesome deal) and got everything taken off to prepare.

Was unbolting the head pipe above the tranny and one of the damn nuts fell off and got lost in the bike somewhere. Any ideas? I guess I will go get one of those magnet/mirrors extenders.

Also have a question......What do you guys use to get the nut closet to the frame off with on the headers? That damn thing is a pain in the *** to get to with the frame in the way.

Thank you and thank you. Never thought of of using compressed air.

Turn bike upside down and shake.
Sorry, that's the first thing I thought of.

That nut will be anywhere you don't think it would be. If you don't find it on the bike do what I do.... Lay a flashlight on the floor (on naturally) and roll it on it's side. If it's down there the light will hit it better than shining down.

I dropped that one too when i changed mine out. Looked forever it seemed like. Ended up being behind the tranny almost up against the swingarm. Was under one of the mounting brackets. Couldn't see it. Took a long screwdriver and gently moved it around till i hit it and fished it out. I know how agravating this can be. Hope this helps.

Thanks. It has happened before when I had a Softail, but it seemed a little easier to actually find the damn thing. Glad the pipe isn't actually here and I have a couple days to look stress free.

I would try the magnet on a stick B4 I blew it with compressed air from where it was to a possibly harder spot to get it out of.
