I had a set of Markland floorboards on my 83 Goldwing. It had a expendable metal block which looked like Magnesium. I would drag them things always. I had my special corner that was a wide intersection off Main St that was a long sweeper. I would drag the floor boards all through the corner making a large trail (20-50 feet) spark show when I passed through it. I wore down several sets and had a budd machine some beefier so it would last longer. He made them out of Aluminum. The Alum barely made sparks ad went back to ori. I sure would like some tabs to add so I can drag because I'm not dragging the chrome floor boards on the Utra

Am I the only one dragging the brackets? Got it pretty good the other day and it lifted my rear end enough I almost lost it.
I dont care about srcraping the floor boards I just want to avoid dragging the bracket because it doesnt have any give.

A small piece of Titanium works too. Not quite as cheap, but a heck of a lot prettier when they scrape.

I went and checked and my right bracket does have some rash on it. Not sure when it touched (es) but it appears to hve been that way a while and has never lifted me up.

Like I said before Im not sure how, but there are no marks on my boards or board mounts but my power dual heat shield has two scapes and I do remember doing it two different times and managed to not get the boards???
Now on my old softail I had the mount brackets ground about 1/2 way through

I had the same problem on my seuc. It has the profiled boards on it. The bike had been lowered in the rear. Never would touch the boards, but was rashing the bracket. The boards are your last warning that you are as deep as you need to be. I feel ya, brackets don't give. I put on the extensions to space the boards out, and raised the bike back to stock height. Now, the boards will not only scrape, but I have folded them several times. I actually pinned my boot between the board and the brake pedal a few times. If you're not dragging the boards, you're not riding hard enough, but dragging brackets is dangerous...

Let 'em scrape, the mounts are thick. I would be more worried about the frame rail below the mount as far as damage. Well i would be if i worried.
