Default First, thanks to all who helped me. Second, how does it look?

First, thanks to all of you who have helped with the advise over the past couple months as I tried to figure out how to fit a fairing on my '93 FLHS. I didn't think it was going to happen except by sheer luck today I finally found a nice shovelhead fairing with all the brackets and windshield at a locally owned shop today for $300. Condition is about 95%, which is about on par with the rest of my bike . Adjusted the bracketry a bit and voila, my unfaired Glide now has a fairing. Only downside, it's black and my bike is Mandarin Orange.

So now here's my question. Maybe I'm nuts, but I almost don't think the black looks too bad. My intention was always to get it painted the Mandarin Orange like the rest of my bike, but looking at it the black fairing almost contrasts really well with the leather, seat, etc.

Maybe I'm just crazy and so excited to finally have a fairing on I need some sense smacked into me that it really doesn't look good. I did lower the windshield to it's lowest setting, about 3" lower. In any case, I can't get it painted anytime soon (wife says we have a budget ) so does the black look good enough to get by for a while without looking like a fool?

Thanks again for everyone's help. Sure love this forum.

I agree with loehd, add a stripe or two and it will look like it came from the factory.

Just add a orange stripe or something and then get it painted later. It doesn't look too bad.

Great job & like others suggest - a few black accents on the bike & orange pinstripes on the fairing would make it look stock.
