1.) oil- then breather
and all that. ( and you could try a maxipad, they stick pretty good to the inside of football cover)
I use the Ness as the S/E was said to have problems directing a normal amount of breather mist to the intake. ( and cost, and reusable filter, and ease of install)

2.) oil and fuel MIXED then you have reversion.
which will happen at specific rpm ranges only-- riding with cover and filter off, you can often see it

in which case it can be tuned out or tuned to another rpm range with pipe changes--- not so much "backpressure" but tuning the wave pulses which travel back and forth in the exhaust system.

so define which is your problem then address that, the presence or lack of gas in the oil spewk will tell you

Pull the barbed nipple out of these pieces.

The hole left behind is the correct size to run a 1/8" NPT tap though

And pick up some 1/8" NPT breathers from Fastenal, McMaster Carr, MSC Tools or wherever for just a couple bucks and you're done.

Here's a link to the breathers

I've been making them for Sportsters for years. Only difference is that the Sportsters have a much larger crank case vent hole but the "carb mount kits" usually come with the smaller bolts for non-quad cam HD's.

I'll post a pic of the ones I have on my Electra Glide in a few. I've been making them for years with no issues. Keeps the oil mist out of the air cleaner and out of the fuel bla bla bla. The key, though, is to NOT run your oil completely full. Actually, if you siphon a little of your oil out now it will dramatically cut down the oil build up in your air cleaner in its stock configuration. Use some sense though. You DO need some oil lol.

My exhaust has zero backpressure (CFR) and I don't have that problem.

The revised (for 2011) breathers are around $20. Replace them and you're golden.

Something is pressurizing your crankcase like a lined up ring, broken ring or bad head gasket or "o" ring. Crankcase pressure has to go somewhere and it vents into the air cleaner.

Too much oil? Try only filling up to the halfway mark on the dip stick when cold. You will be surprised just how the oil will expand when hot (230 degrees+), the engine and oil expands and has to go somewhere and guess where it goes.........into the air cleaner.

I plan to check the new HD breather modules and mreed's breather set up but, so far running with lower oil volume (half way down on the dip stick), Doherty mist free breather modules and plugging the back plate (SE) holes and drilling the stand offs from the rocker box for fittings to run hoses to the ground, don't help. (But after she sits a while there is oil on the ground from the hose.

I get what looks like straight oil, not milky that would suggest reversion. It gathers at the bottom of the filter - Zipper high flow. As in my OP altered my AC cover to extend under the filter and back plate and stuffed some paper towel in there for now.
Thanks to all
