Default Air/ wind deflectors/ fork mounted

I have an o6 RK Custom. When I had the passing lights installed, I had them move the turn signals from the handle bars to below the passing lights using the "custom auxiliary mounting bracket kit" p/n 69227-04A.

I want to install fork mounted air deflectors but I have been told that the deflectors will bump the turn signals. I have checked on line and in catalogs and can't find any to fit my situation.

Does anyone know of a st of deflectors that will work ?

Thanks

Are they bullet signals? You can buy new signals that don't protrude out the back for $35 each. I was going to do the same with bullet signals and got the part number from HD. If I can find it now I'll post it.

I have the fork deflectors on my 06 RK Standard and have the normal turn signals (flat) not bullet, they are tight and close to the turn signal but do not hit them, they work great for getting rid of air turbulance that comes up from motor area, Love them

I had them until I put the lowers on, what I had to do was mount them backwards and they worked fine. When I went full lock left or right they would touch the highway bar, so I just bent them a little so they wouldn't touch, they worked like a champ.

I installed mine on my 05 RKC with bullet turn signals and there's around 1/16" between the deflector and the back of the light housing. The top screw hole of the deflector gives you a little bit of adjusting room. Play with it and I'm sure you'll be okay.

Hey guy's, thanks for the responses...........helped out a lot.

Bay13...I don't know what you mean by "lowers" are there upper and lower deflectors of do you mean something else?
When you reversed the deflectors do they look as good as the proper install. I can't really tell by the picture.

The problem I found was that they didn't let me adjust the passing lamps down far enough. I was riding with some friends and the rider in front of me said he couldn't my directional light because the white light from the passing lamps was pointed up and blocking the light from the directional. On coming traffic couldn't see the directional. I checked it out and sure enough. I can adjust the passing lamps ok with the deflectors off though. This winter I'm going to mess around with it.

The lowers are the black things on the highway bars, when you turn the forks those chrome deflectors get close to and touch them when you have them mounted backwards. I think they looked close to the way they are suppose to look, only way you could tell is if you were parked next to someone that had them on right. It's a problem with my bike because of the bracket I choose for the highway lights and turn signals.

If anyone successfully mounts these fork-mounted wind deflectors on a SG, I'd like to know how it is done. I had them on my old RK and it was a major improvement, although the fairing doesn't seem to allow as much air rushing in from around the tank as the RK windshield.

The SG has the turn signals on the mount where the deflectors would go, so at the very least you'd need to cut a slit to route the wires.

tell ya what i'm doin...the 360 brake left the stock caliper bolt bosses empty...so i'm gonna make me some mini ones(long skinny at the bottom and wider at the top triangular shaped wind deflectors)...about 5-6 inches long and bolt em in those holes...with a fast bagger like i got, the front can get squirrely when under power at 80 or so...borrowin from the drag racin days, this little spoiler(for lack of better description) will act as a wicker bill and hold that front on the pavement
