My cruise was kicking off about six months ago and setting my engine light on. When I had the codes checked, it was pointing to the brakes. Mechanic told me to ride it until it happens again.
Its been fine for the last 3000 miles, then the other day it started to kicking off after three hours of cruising, but this time "no" engine light. So I tapped the brakes and the cruise held for another 30 minutes before it kicked itself off again. Tap the brakes and all is well for another 30 minutes or so.
So, since it is so intermittent, ist there a way to test and find the problem switch? Should I just replace both brake swithes? Is that fairly easy? What are the cost of switches?
Thanks a head.

The front brake switch is a pain. I have never done the rear. The front one requires removing the clam shell, removing the switch, soldering the new switch in and putting it all back together. Dennis Kirk makes an aftermarket switch that is lots cheaper than the HD one. You need a third hand to do the soldering.
Here's the front switch https://www.denniskirk.com/drag-spec...prd/214590.sku
