Default Pirelli Tires

New to this forum. I just purchased an 11 limited. The bike came stock with Dunlops. My last bike 09 Kawasaki Nomad also came with Dunlops and they lasted 12000 miles. When I put the new rubber on I went with Pirelli MT66's and there was an incredible difference in the handling, so much as I thought I was on the wrong bike. I was wondering if anyone has used Pirelli's on their touring bikes. I bought the 11 new 3 weeks ago and already have 2800 miles. I'm trying to do some homework early.

I do not have Pirelli tires on my RK, but I did want to welcome you to the forum.

Give your Dunlops a fighting chance. The D407 on the rear is an incredible tire that I got 20k miles out of before changing it.

What is the tread depth for these stock tires when new. I have 5/32 on the rear after 7.5K miles

Dunlop gets such a bad rap around here. My dunlops lasted 18000kms and still had a bit of life left in them before I changed em. They held the road great and even today I got caught in a monsoon for about 3 hours and I was still rolling at 120kms/hr 70ish mph. I had an Avon on my last bike and sure it stuck like glue but lasted 6000kms. Buy whatever you like however these dunlops on my bike dint seem to be broken. So I ain't gonna fix em.

By the way...remember the MT66 won't handle the load...
