Looking for the most cost effective way to put a set of apes on my bike. Would like to go with a set of 16" if possible. I have a 2011 Road King. Thanks for any info!!

16's are going to require a full kit. Get a hold of LA Choppers. They have the most complete kits and the best prices I have seen. Site sponsor too.

I'm not a huge fan of kits, they often have longer cables than necessary to avoid returns.

I like Wild1's but a lot of folks go with Carlini. Apparently Carlini measures height differently, I think they are taller than their specs state.

Carlini's run about 2" higher due to the lack of pull down for the grips. If you want a custom built kit just for you give us a call. We can do it.

get used bars or blemished bars,,,,,,cables are not that much,,,,,but labor will cost you anywhere from 400-800 bucks, and don't forget poly bushings,,you might as well install chrome levers too

To answer your original question, stick with 1" bars (diameter), they are noticably less expensive. A few brands have sets for under 100 bucks. Do the install yourself to make it the most cost effective, because labor will get ya quick on a bar install.

Dont go cheap! For an extra hundred bucks or so, the 1.25" (or greater) bars just look awesome. My Wild1 Chubby 14" cost $220, not unreasonable.

Not arguing chubby bars look better. It's night and day IMO. But......if someone is on a budget, there is quite a savings going to 1" bars. Just stating a fact.

Thanks for all the info guys. I am going to check it all out. I won't have labor costs, I do all of my own work.
Again, thanks for taking the time!!
