Yes a major PITA to adjust. I made the adjusting socket out of a deep well 9/16th and did not tighten the nut real tight when I was done adjusting. If I put enough pressure I can more the lights. I do believe an idiot designed those lights and mounting. On an EG you can loosen the mounting bar and raise/lower the whole assembly some, torx nut on the side. I put mine just a bit above full down to give me some adjusting room.
