RE: Grey Beards and Electra Glides...
Almost 59 and have a 2005 EG Classic. Had a Roadking for 10 years before that. For riding more than 100 miles a day the geezer glides can't be beat.
It all depends on what you want to do, but if seeing America on a Harley is it, then the toruing bikes are the way to go.
Regards,
Bill

I'm 46 and have more than a little gray in my beard. I absolutely love my FLHTCUI! It has all the amenities like cruise, stereo w/CD, intercom, XM radio (that I added) and best of all it is comfortable for long periods in the saddle. My wife loves it on the back too.
It performs and handles very well and rides as smooth as baby's butt. If you can take the teasing, you'll never be sorry you got it.

I'm 42 and have a FLHTCI and I love it.The goat has'nt changed to gray yet LOL.I rode Dyna's for ever till My Wife said she did'nt enjoy the ride on the small back seat anymore.Man I gotta tell you,I'll never be without a GeezerGlide again.I catch a little **** from my Buddies on their Deuces and Soft tails till they want me to haul something in the tour pack for them.As some of the other Guys on this thread said,I wish I would of bought one a long time ago. When you get yours and you're riding down the road listining to tunes with a huge smile on your face, you wont care what anyone says LOL.
Happy Trails!

dc1450, you are so right! I catch @#$% all the time from the guys I ride with. It is funny though, everytime we hit the road for a long run I take the lead and will often go 150 miles or so before stopping and they all complain that is too far to go before stopping. Each time we ride i go a little bit farther just to hear them cry!!!

Wow I really broke the rules!!
42 and ride a 2005 Glacier White FLTHCUI
1st Harley 79 Sportster at 28 years old
2nd Harley 90 FLHTP Electra Glide Police at 29 years old and haven't looked back since.
BTW all 4 of my Electra's have been white
I've always heard there are 2 kinds of bikers....Those who ride Dressers and those who haven't been on one yet!
Old comfortable geezer

RE: Grey Beards and Electra Glides...
I am 36 years old an I used to own a 91 Softail, currently building a custom Softail, and ride an 83 FXWG. I bought an 05 fuel injected Standard and do not regret it at all. I have always liked the fairlings and hard bags. I am getting a lot of slack for getting a grandpa bike. The funny thing is, I am always being asked if there is room in my bag for their jacket. I am going to sell the 83 FXWG and use the Softail for bar-hopping. If I miss riding the standard, the Softail may go up for sale. I have offered the "hard cores" (Softails, Wide Glide owners) to ride my bike. No one has stepped up to do it yet. I think the fact that I have ridden the shovel to Sturgis seven times, they know I picked the standard for a good reason. If they get on the standard, they may be looking into trading for a grandpa bike and might hurt their image.
