Grey Beards and Electra Glides...

bought my 05 classic new when i was 45, 5 years later, yes i have a grey beard. I owned many motorcycles over the years and this one is by far my favorite. It really doesnt mater what other people think you should ride, out on the road its just you and your bike. At that time you know its right!

I kept looking, but I didn't see anyone my age, 66 soon to be 67 March 2011, most of you are just spring chickens
My first bike was a 125cc Tohatsu that I rode all over Okinawa in 62-63, I have owned Hondas, Nortons, triumphs, Yamahas, rode dirt bikes in the hills down by Carlsbad, ca. Man it's been great.
Owned 4 Harleys, really loved my 78 FLH with the old post floater seat that thing was a real Easy Rider. Had 3 sporties, really liked the 77 XLCH. Rode it daily from Camp Pendleton to El Toro up and down I-5.
My wife and I have rode all over southern Ca, and rode trips including one from Camp Pendleton to Kankakee Illinois, Great.
We still ride two up on our 96 classic and we were over at Minors Harley Davidson at Cape Girardeau yesterday looking at a new Limited MMMMMMMMM.....
Anyhoo

My question is, and forgive me for even asking, how old are the riders of Electra Glides on this site? I'd love to prove her wrong, as I don't believe you have to be any particular age to ride one. I think they're awesome bikes, and besides, 60 years of age is still pretty young, in my opinion!

I was in my EARLY forties when I bought my first Glide, there's no better ride as far as I'm concerned. Of course I look forward to my long distant rides (Florida to Alaska next)

In the very early 70's I rode a Kaw 900 from Colorado to VA when I ws discharged from the military. Still cannot believe I could handle that ride.
Anway I bought my first Harly a sporster in the early 80's and traded it for a Superglide.
went then for a Heritage and said when I bought it the first thing I will do when I get it home is take the windshield off. Rode home from the dealer and said well will never ride without a windshield again.
Purchased 3 more softails between then and this year and just picked up a 2010 Ultra Classic. I wish that I could have afforded this ride way back when.
It rides better than anything else I have ever ridden and at the end of the day feel like I could keep going. Between the tunes and the comfort there is nothing like it.
Thought about a Goldwing as all I hear are good things about them, but chrome plastic just does not do it for me.
I am currently in the process of trading this in for the CVO Ultra Classic I think. Want it, can afford it but its alot of $ for a bike.
Might just start saving for the RV of my dreams.
By the way I am in my late 50's and would have ridden this in my 20's had I had the $.
