Grey Beards and Electra Glides...

2008 FLHTP here... I have heard Electra Glides / Ultras referred to as "Geezer Glides" - LOL! But, I really love them... that faring and tall windshield makes a world of difference cold weather or in the rain, of which I ride in both.
43 yrs young, with a few grey hairs... and proud of my "Geezer Glide"

Well. i was 39 when i got mine, and now have alot of grey at 42, so if you want grey hair get the glide, i like mine because i can grow into it! oh yea! i put on the short street glide shield one day because the tall one was soaking in a bucket of water to get the bugs off, i hated it. i liked it when i bought it but know i gotta have the tall one, boy im getting old..... and comfy!

Well I am 52 and have been riding my current 02 FatBoy for the last 9 years. I pick up my 2010 Ultra Classic this comming Saturday. Keeping the FatBoy for hoping around town, but after renting a Ultra Classic for a weekend the wife like riding the Ultra better.
As for grey hair I probably would have it if I had any hair on my head. LOL

Not really sure what happened but somehow I made it to 56 and the gray has now all turned white. Maybe if I'd got the ABS sooner.......
First bike bought on my own was the used Honda 450 Dream - $350. 40 years later = the 09 Ultra. If someone told me 40 years ago that I'd someday spend $20K on a motorcycle id'a said you were nuck'n futs. From now on it's Geezer Glides only for me and happy to have made it to the Graybeard Club. We earned it!
BTW. The correct spelling has to be GRAY since that's the way Crayola spells it!

O.K. here is the deal. If you are not old enough to buy something you want without worrying about what other people think, then you are not old enough to buy whatever it is you think you want! (no I'm not Dr. Phil, but I did see him on TV once!)
P.S. bought mine at 52.

I'm still riding an RK but the Ultra's are looking pretty good to me!
I'm 48 and we FINALLY reached the point in our life that allows us to hit the road for a couple weeks at a time and I feel re-born!!
I still have friends that refuse to ride anything with a windshield but they never do anything but afternoon trips and they can't comprehend why we like to take two week trips
An Ultra is in my future and I'm wishing that I'd bought one years ago!
Some people ride because it's kind of fun.
Others(me included) ride because it's what they were meant to do!
