Default 2008 seat fitment

i have a 2008 FLTR Road Glide, i just picked up a used Ultra Classic seat marked 2008 and up touring models. the seat was mfg oct 2010. when i mount the seat the back of the seat is about 1" above the fender mounting screw hole, any suggestions other then using a spacer and a longer screw.

You sure you got it in the tang at the front of the seat correctly? It shouldn't fit as you are saying.

Should bolt right on. All 2008-2012 touring bike seats are interchangable

Agree, the tang may not be in the correct position in the slot. Never seen it but could the seat pan be bent? It may just need to be pushed down some toward the hole in the fender because of the angle of the tang . shouldn't use a longer screw or a spacer.

Exactly what I have on my '08 Roadie.....
Once the nose is nestled in its proper position, the back end
should lay right on the thread opening.

Will try reinstalling the seat again this weekend. 10/7/11 got it to fit properly tonight. what a PIA, the tour pac mount was holding up the back of the seat after pushing in the foam on sides it went down into place
