Picking my 012 ultra this afternoon from the 1.000 mile service. Red line full syn in the primary,and tranny. I put spectro platium full syn in the motor. Red line and Spectro are my personal preference. Full syn is the way to go..

 

Basically, try to find Mobil 1 Vtwin synthetic somewhere in desolation wilderness.

Yes, me too. And several cars, trucks, diesel trucks, and boats over the last 40 years. I have never used anything but fossil oils. Never had an engine crap out on me that I can remember. Certainly not because of bad oil.

I will run HD 360 and Formula + until my 10K miles of free maintenance runs out then I will run Revtech 20W-50 in the winter and 25W-60 when the thermometer hits 100 again in TX.

Dino oil has always done the job in my engines. I did an internet search and came up with dozens of arguments on oil in everything from airplanes to outboard motors. No facts, no chemistry, no test, no proof, just opinions on forums like this and companies trying to hype their product.

Anyone find any proof? One way or the other?

Ride it hard for the first 1000 then redline all three holes.

 

There are some good legitimate oil comparison tests out there in cyberspace. Sheer tests, ball bearing wear, high temperature breakdown analysis, etc...
Ive found them and read a few myself.
Use the absolute best your budget allows for.

any 20-50 or15-50 or20-60 motor oil in the motor,any gearlube in the gearbox,anything that says v-twin in the primary(this is the idiot proof way of making sure your clutch wont slip). how was that for non brand spesific?
