Smile Ride like a Pro 5

I've been thinking about ordering the video, has anyone seen it and give a opinion on what you think. Since moving up to my Ultra from the Heritage and the extra wieght and hieght of the new beast(haha) I could probally use some teaching up at low speeds.
Thanks

Do you have the Ultra yet? I have always thought the touring frames handle much better at slow speeds over the softails. I was amazed the first time I rode one.

At the moment, I have a 2005 Softail Deluxe and a 2012 EC sitting in my shop. (selling the Deluxe for a buddy) For comfort and handling, I would pick the EC any day even though it is a much heavier bike.

But hey, you can't get too much training. I would be interested in watching it once your done. We'll just keep selling it around.

the ride like a pro stuff is pretty impressive- if you are in a parking lot and doing display demonstrations.

the U turns are useful too.

but in the real world, do you really wanna be standing on your rear brake and slipping your clutch all the time?

I have the DVD, the stuff they show on youtube is a pretty good summary, and outlines basic skills and methods.

the reversed triple tree on the touring bikes is specifically designed for low speed stability--- pretty impressive for the size and weight.

to get confidence, do the same thing you did to learn to drive in the snow- go find an empty parking lot and practice.

Buy a copy and keep it in your library. Refer to it often. I have been riding for well over 40 years and when I moved up to the Ultra with the added weight and higer CG (especially with passenger aboard), I knew I needed some help. I have watched the video and learned some new things but haven't actually bought cones and mapped out a practice area. I know I should, in order to get full advantage of the lessons, but I will say that simply watching and listening, then putting into play what he teaches, will reap great rewards.

I bought it and practiced a little. I was very impressed with what was taught. I ended up taking the live class a few months later and impressed myself on how well I did compared to the other students who had not seen the video first.

Highly recommended!!!

Ditto what's been said. I've been riding for longer than I care to admit but I did buy the video and I did pick up a few tips. I also changed from a Dyna Low Rider to a Street Glide last year and although heavier, I feel like the Street Glide handles much better at low speeds.

Have you attanded a ERC...?? If not, I'd pick it over video anyday...JMO. Nothing better than physically training & riding vs. watching & re-creating.

I got the video last week - have been watching it on my iPad (and have it on my iPod) with the intent to take the bike out to one of the MSF courses (there's one in the parking lot of the community college about 5 miles away) and practicing some of the of the material. We (my coworker and I) are also planning to do the ARC next year when the lessons open up again.

Yes, this is all low speed stuff but ask yourself this; do you have a hard time riding the bike once it's over 20mph or do you find it harder to manoeuver in slow going traffic and parking lots?
