Agree on the custom stuff versus the 'bike specific' stuff !!

I would say you went above and beyond, and That you should have called Harley to build a bike around your stereo. lol and done worry I read your tread on your stereo build cause I have a Avic-N1 pioneer in my garage that may or may not be going in my bike cause of you MR. GLACIERPEARL. HAHA My biggest deal was I wanted the sound, without the lack of space. but to each his own. I have always wanted to throw some subs in my bags. but then I go a step back and I might as well be riding my chopper again.

"I want to be able to hear the music while running 60-70 mph."

Probably the best "upgrade" to accomplish that is to put on a full-sized windshield to cut down on the wind blast from the puny stock RG windscreens.

Perhaps wind deflectors (either the HD deflectors or "Santos wings") would help with the "up from the knees" buffeting....

Default Speaker upgrade

Go with the BOOM speakers either way. Think again about the amp though. Can't go wrong.
Good luck.

Buy some speakers, anybody's speakers. I have J&M's 7.25s and couldn't be happier for y needs, which are the ability to hear well on the highway..After you upgrade the speakers, and you have caught the bug, prepare to start spending more money trying to 'catch the sound' jus saying...

Skip anything that comes from the factory. Upgrade your stock speakers in the fairing and add additional tweeters in the fairing. Arc audio has some kits at a great value.
Skip the saddlebag speakers if you want to hear them going down the road. Add fairing lowers to make room for more speakers...you will hear what's in front of you only

The saddlebag speakers at 75mph and with 150watts running them you can hear them clear as day. Not sure you have ever heard them saying this. lol

Was at an audio shop just recently and was recommended these. The guy also told me that ARC audio amps tend to get returned. Meaning These amps have been having issues. The 2 smallest amps I've seen are Rockford Fosgates and JLXD200/2 amps
