Street Glide Clutch

The cable was probably not readjusted correctly. You have to loosen the cable to remove the lever and replace the lever. First try just readjusting the cable. Loosen the adjustment lock nut on the cable near the front frame down tube and back off the adjustment until you have about a dimes thickness worth of play at the handle bar cable end between the cable ferrule and the actual clutch lever perch...Pull the cable away from the perch to ensure just about a dimes worth of end play. Then snug the lock nut back up. Warning, do not over tighten that lock nut on the cable adjuster. I have seen many broken in half due to over tightening. Just snug it up. I don't believe that your clutch itself requires adjustment if it did not do this before the levers were put on. Sounds like just a simple cable only adjustment. It sounds too tight. Probably wouldn't hurt to do a complete clutch adjustment at some point, but this should correct the immediate issue.

It might be the neutral safety switch in the bar clamp. Check that the clutch handle is engaging the switch, you might have to loosen the clamp and rotate the whole assembly a little bit to get it to engage.
To check if it is the switch, remove the bar clamp and press the switch in and try to start it. Don't engage the starter too long, as you will be in gear! Just a light tap on the starter button should tell you if the switch is working or not. If the starter works, it's just adjusted arong....

I will second this. I had the same problem on my '07 and it was the switch that is depressed by the clutch lever in the switch housing.
