Tell me how you like the Rockford 4 ch. amp
Now that the new Rockford Fosgate PBR300x4 has been out for awhile, I'm looking for what you guy really think of it and what speakers you are running. I'm waiting for my Cycle Sounds saddlebag lids to come back from the painter. I will be installing db691 Polk Audio in the lids and 6.5 Hertz in the fairing. I connected the speakers last night without the lids and the 6.5 Hertz sound good and the Polk's....maybe they will sound better once they are installed in the lids. I agree with most the amp is clean sounding but not very loud. I have the gain on the front and rear speakers set between 5-6. I'm running it with a Sony headunit and Biketronics module. All feedback and gain settings will be helpfull...Thanks in advance.

I've been very happy with mine. If you are using pre-amp outputs from the head unit, you may need to increase the gains. In any event, you'll want to tune the amp with the speakers installed.
If you are concerned with how loud the volume is with the 6x9's, have you maxed out the volume on the head unit and still felt the sound level wasn't high enough? I ask because when I first installed the amp, I could max out the HK volume level and hadn't approached the full power of the amp because the gains were set too low.
In terms of power, I use this example: the volume setting on the HK head unit listening to music while riding at interstate speeds is too loud (i.e. hurts my ears loud) to listen to music with the bike parked.
