Hi-Lo or Legend air shock setup???
Is anyone running either of these setups??
How cushy/plush a ride are these setups providing these days???
A friend of mine has had the Hi-Lo for quite a while on an 04 RK & I was never tremendously impressed with the ride(his is too stiff for me), but I am wondering if they have improved the ride quality on the newest ones??
I have the DB system installed right now, but that is also a little stiff for my taste & I am exploring other options. I previously had 12" Progressive 440's on my bike & they out rode either the DB or the Hi-Lo especially on short sharp bumps like freeway expansion joints.
I may go back to the 440's or possibly try a set of Works, but I really do like the height adjustment of the air setup.....

RE: Hi-Lo or Legend air shock setup???
I have the Hi-Lo system on my SG and love the ride. I can honestly say the ride is better than the stock shocks. However, I ride solo 100% of the time and I have the H-D "Stripper" seat which does not have a ton of padding.
I would not switch back to the stock shocks even if I had an option to get the $900 back for what I paid for them.
As a caveat - to each his own when it comes to comfort. I enjoy the system running an inch or two above slammed but the next guy may not. In any case, there is absolutley nothing not to like about the quality, mechanics or the ride of the Hi-Lo system.

I agree the ride is better than stock but maybe a little more harsh then a good quality spring type shock due to the dampening effect of a spring vs. compressed air.
In any event I wouldn't trade my system in either. The ability to adjust the ride on the fly and when going from solo to 2 up and back make this the only type of suspension system for me.
I avoided drinking the Kool Aid with the DB system, opting for a motorcycle specific setup. No knocks on DB and all who enjoyed the low price of it but after spending all that cash on my ride and not skimping on accessories I felt the suspension system was not the place to start cutting corners to save a buck.
I recommended it to 2006streetglide and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone else.

That's what I was afraid of, that is EXACTLY how I would describe the ride of the DB system so it sounds like I would gain absolutely nothing by swapping to the Hi-Lo.
I imagine the same is probably true of the Legend system also, I think the harsher ride quality is a fact of life with the air systems & I will have to go with the Works or back to the Progressive 440's to get a ride smooth enough for me....
The air systems probably gain some advantage if riding double & heavily loaded, but I ride solo 100% of the time & I only weigh 155 lbs.

Do you have a website?? If the Platinum ride better(I am not impressed with the ride of my buddies Hi-Lo setup), I may well be interested in that setup.
