I thought I would give the members an update on the clacking problem. I took it into the dealership and explained the sound to them. They took my bike in and called back to say that they were replacing the lifters and all parts that go along with the repair gaskets, lifters, orings etc. Picked it up and rode it home and was pleased with the sound. Seems to be like when I first purchased it. My dealer treated me really well.

I'm glad you're up and running normal again. What contributed to the failure, do you know? Was it your oil. I have always used Amsoil, so that scares me a little.

Your description of the problem is the classic symptom of a lifter that is bleeding down too fast.
