Default For those with aftermarket radio in your bagger

For all that have aftermarket radios (picture if available) on your baggers:

1. What brand and model did you install?
2. How long has it been mounted and working?
3. How have you liked the function and performance?
4. Have you had any issues?
5. Which brand mounting kit did you use?
6. What if anything would you do differently if you had to do it all over (radio only)?

I have a pioneer head unit with usb, i installed the universal kit from biketronics with a hidden antenna in the fairing it runs great no issues at all. Controls work good the kit also comes with rain sheild but you can put a marine grade deck in which will be my next one.
All and all i would never go to a harmon kardon i like the versatility of my setup

I went with the Kenwood KIV 701 and the hawg wired install kit. I wouldn't chNge anything about the radio or install kit at all. The only issue was the "kenwood" cord that is necessary for the ipod. Its an additional purchase, but it does go from the radio into the bags!

I have the same Alpine that Rick has. I love it, especially the ipod interface which is all I ever use. I'm not sure which kit my installer used, but I was able to retain the handlebar controls. I had it installed back in May, no issues so far. I am using the Biketronics splash guard for wet weather.

I will be most likely do the Marine Alpine with iPod screen as well. I like the simple looks of the Kenwood unit, but it's not marine grade.

I have a Sony DSX-100 head unit with Polk Audio DXi650 High Performance 6.5 dash speakers and a HogTunes tweeter pad. I also installed the Biketronics retro module. Sounds great and the hand controls work great as well. I love how I can dock my iphone in the tray for charging and playback.

Have you used the USB port on the Kenwood's KIV-701 to play flash drive music?

The stock HK is a lot to be desired, isn't it? Even w/an amp, tweeter pod and new fairing speakers it is so so.
