True story.........

I used to have 3 fast oil change shops and we actually had an ol' boy come in (I remember him well. He drove an ald green LTD and always, always asked for "Quakie State 15 dub ya 40" even thoughwe never carried it.) and he had them mounted on the dash INSIDE of the damn car. He said that he "used ta have dem out on da bumper but dey kept gettin all plugged up with grasshoppers un june bugs un damn moths that I puts em in dere so day would stays cleaner. Dem damn things works like a charm".

Never did have the heart to tell him any different.

I don't believe that they work. I do believe that the noise they make would get very annoying on a bike.

I hit two deer at once, thats right, I hit two deer at the same time, with the whistles on my truck. I have pics, I will try to scan them and prove it to ya.

So no, the whistles DONT work.

Got back from a 3,800 mile ride from Austin, Yellowstone.
Red Lodge, Devils Tower, Sturgis and back to Austin on Aug. 7th, 2011

Had 8 encounters with single deer (only saw one deer, maybe more) and one group of 8 to 10.
They were all within 10 feet of the road on our side.. two motorcycles.

Within 30 to 50 yards they looked straight at us...turned the other direction and ran.....

And YES,, I have Deer Alerts installed....
and no, maybe "I" can't verify that it was the Deer Alerts that
alerted them to us... but for $12.00 I will continue to install them
on my bike as long as I ride a motorcycle.

Or maybe it was just God protecting us...did say a few prayers on the trip
after my horn crapped out the first day of the trip and had no way to alert cagers...

Don't know if they work or not. Used to ride home from work deer every place, put them on did not see as many deer. Maybe they left the area not sure but for a few $$ I feel better.

I don't believe they work either but I do believe they are startled by loud pipes. Just my experience still need to be careful. Them bastards are a nuisance.
