Street Glide 1000 Mile Service
Hey folks. I just picked up my new Street Glide and have put around 930 miles on it. I called my local dealership today to see if they have a manual, and they do not. I was wondering if anyone could scan the pages or have pics of the requirements for the servicing on the bike for the first 1000 mile check. Until I can get ahold of a dealership that has one. Or even a list of all the maintenance that needs to be completed. I'm not trying to scam a copy of the service book, only get a bit of it until I can get one of my own. Thanks

Crank,
You can goto the Harley web site and view both your Owners Manual and Maintenance Schedules.
Go here to register if you have'nt already. You can also check for any recalls on your bike as well.

Should do you until you can get a service manual.

there are also service bulletins which the dealer may be aware of ( or not depending on if they suck).
one currently getting alot of noise here are the tranny end cover bolts have been backing out ( esp. the 2 used to mount the exhaust) new spec is 20~23 ft pounds. and add new blue locktite. I was lazy so used a torque wrench on the ones I could hit, then used a 1/4 screwdriver bit butt end forts into the hidden allens and turned it with a 1/4" wrench to a "feel". I marked the heads at 6 o'clock to give a visual inmdication should they back off.
the rest is fluids, remember that the oil drain is on the front side of the pan, the tranny drain points straight down.
