You Guys With 6X9s In Saddlebags
I had a Woof Pak subwoofer in the tourpak of my Classic. The thing was great, but I gave up storage for it, and had to put a 4" hole in the front of the tourpak, to get the most out of that sub. I now have a nice 103 LTD Ultra, and don't really wanna give up storage or drill a hole in the tourpak. Did you have to put holes in your saddlebags to get the most out of your 6X9s, and did you lose alot of storage space? I don't really use the lowers either, so what speakers (or subs) do you have in your lowers that you like? I have Hertz 6.5s & an ARC mini in the fairing.

I used the Cyclesounds bag lids. They work pretty good. You do lose a little bag space, but not near what you would lose if you put a speaker inside the bag.
Based on my set-up, I think you would get better sound when riding down the road by putting a set of speakers in your lowers rather than your bags.
I've heard the Hertz and they sound nice. Are they 4 ohm rated? I can't remember. If so, you could add another set and run them all off the ARC if you wired them in parallel. If they are less than 4 ohm you can't do it as the amp is not rated for loads less than 2 ohm. Probably need to look at a 4 channel amp like the new Fosgate. Guys seem to like them so far.

I have a friend that does motorcycle installs. He uses a PDX F6 to drive four Pioneer 5-way 6x9's. Quick disconnects under the seat for easy bag removal.
Anyway, his systems are LOUD and have quite an impressive amount of bass. The amp goes on the left side, leaving the larger space in the right bag. You can squeeze a leather jacket and some random crap in the left bag, and a bit more in the right.
Only reason I don't have this setup is because I like overnight trips and am unwilling to lose the space. I also don't want to spend the extra $$ on a second set of bags... At least not for this bike.
