Default Ck eng light and battery light 2005 road glide

So those two lights will come on intermit not always together and only when im cruising at highway speeds 65 and higher....in a 10 minute cruise at highway speeds i might see the ck eng light 2-3 times on and off and the battery light 1 or 2 times....and sometimes no battery light.. 2005 road glide ..with S.E. slip ons averything else stock....no drive issues, but i have noticed at night when cruising at highway speeds and when the eng and or battery lights are coming on my head lights and dash lights might dim slightly.

anyone have any idea at all....

Does your volt gauge show a change in volts? If so check voltage regulator. Also pull inspection cover off primary and smell inside if it smells like burnt wire you have a stator problem.

05Roadglide is right you need to check your charging system first. How old is your battery? Have it load tested. Check charging at the battery. Manual will give you a step by step on how to test it.

Yep, it's most likely a voltage regulator (easy to replace) or Stator (Royal Pain to replace),

But, first I would take the battery to H-D. They will load test the battery with no charge.

Unfortunately, I have a lot experience with this on my Sporty. So far, no problems with the Ultra Classic

Look for a loose connection at the 12 pin connector behind the fairing. Follow the wires from the speedometer

++ make sure your battery cable connections are tight (both ends) and have some dielectric grease for good solid connectivity. You'll be suprised what kind of trouble a loose battery cable will cause & HD's tend to work their way loose...
