Default Andrews 26 for Stage I 2010 FLHX: Thoughts

I've done a lot of searching and reading and all the cam info./compression ratios is a little over my head. I'm not a motor guy...just love to ride and like to take good care of my stuff. My tuner/mechanic is great. Just looking for some advice/constructive criticism for what I'm about to do.

My bike: 2010 Street Glide w/ V&H Power Duals, Monster Rounds and TTS tuner w/ Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner. The Power Duals have a crack at the X-pipe so I figured now is a good time to do cams. My indy is getting a warranty header and suggested the Andrews 26. He knows how I ride. I bought the bike new and it now has 21K on it. For what it's worth, I trust my mechanic...just looking for additional feedback. I don't plan on doing motor work as I need longevity out of the bike...they're just too damn expensive! I will probably get and extended warranty soon as well...just pricing them out.

Any input/ideas welcome...just to help me increase my knowledge base.

It's not a "hot-rod" cam, but its good for a touring bike. It's the one I have and am happy with it.

I had difficulty with cam choice too but I have to say there are probably better cams out there BUT that's my opinion. By better I mean more power output. I figured if I'm going through all the expense and trouble of swapping the cams I want to be sure the difference is noticeable. I didn't want to spend hundreds and waste a weekend in the garage for a 10hp gain.

If you went with this cam you would be happy but could you be happier with a more aggressive choice??

Thereare some heavy hitters on this and other forums that swear by the Andrews 21 cam. That what I used and am happy. YMMV

The more aggressive, the less dependable. Your choice.

Very happy with the Andrews 26. Great mid to high range torque. We ride 2 up frequently and it is a noticeable improvement. 1 up is even more fun Same deal here- my Indy recommended these cams and I am not disappointed.

Only know of and had 255's.
Very fun cam . Noticeable tq increase. I liked them. I think I had 74 hp and 87 tq. With them. More importantly they fit my highway riding style . Fun up till about 3500 Rpms then the fun would roll off. Quite a rocket off the line though.

I put Bob Woods TW6-6 cams in a 2010 FLHX 96CI with Ness Big Sucker high flow air cleaner, Vance & Hines Chrome Propipe, and SE Pro Super Tuner. Tuned at 94HP and 101 TQ. Very strong and dependable motor. Dyno Chart on Bob Wood's web site.
