mine usually starts up where I left it- I think...

any chance you are hitting the mode switch when going for the starter and run switches?

Mine does that to, but I just suffer through the excercise of toggling it back to FM. Just didn't want to go through the long distance effort of getting another radio ordered, seeing as it took two months the last time I had it replaced.

I use the CD player almost exclusively. When I crank the bike the radio screen goes blank. Most of the time it comes back up on the CD player. Sometimes it comes back up on FM. I just push the button to get back to the CD player. This is my 2nd radio and the other one did the same thing.

I don't know of a cure for this. Just push the button.

As long as the radio works and you can surf thru the buttons, not worth spending the cash on a new one.

MIne did the same thing. I followed the directions on the HD website to download / install the radio software update. Problem solved.

Follow the instructions and download the latest firmware before spending any money on a new radio.

Here is the link.
