Default Failed brake light switch.

My limited had a problem while on our road trip. The cruise control would not work. It turns out to be the rear brake light switch failed (again). This is the second time in a year and a half. It is under warranty, but is this something you all have issues with? I do not care to keep replacing the switch every few months.

I'm not sure it has made any difference yet but after replacing the rear brake light switch on my '09 Ultra Classic I wrapped the switch with high temperature heat reflective tape. Time will tell I guess. There really needs to be some sort of heat shield between the exhaust and the rear brake light switch. Don’t be surprised if when the next generation tour bike comes out if the brake light switch has been relocated.

I would like to see it be made an electronic switch.

No problem with cruise control, but a bad brake switch was causing my check engine light to come on.
