Wheels??? What Fits???
Has there been a thread on which model & year rear wheels interchange with a touring bike wheel? Right now I'm running a Sportster 16" wheel on back of a Road Glde. Bearing and axle diameter are changeble, so no problem. What I need is hub width. and if there's any difference in pulley mounting patterns or anything else. Thanks.

Thanks for the response. We've messaged on this subject before. I'm not concerned about wheel width. I'm trying to figure is there any difference in hub width. Have you run across any one that has installed Deuce wheel (a solid Deuce wheel is one of the wheels I'm considering) . What I'm trying to do is install a 17"x4.5" harley wheel on my 2000 Road glide that is going to have a wide fender installed and a 04 swing arm. I'm thinking a a 00-07 Dyna,00-08 Softail or Sportster may work with the correct size bearings. I'm just trying to get input from someone that has done it.

You're using a Sportster wheel, I know several owners using FatBoy wheels, we also know touring wheels fit, what I was saying is the HUB width of all these wheels is the same. You also asked about bolt hole patterns, which are unchanged since way back when, before the years we have mentioned above.

Thanks for the info. The reason I'm asking these ?"s is that the Moco list 5 different part #'s for a 17" Road Winder rear wheel. There's one # for the CVO Road King (which would fit) one # for 00-07 Softails-06 & later Dynas, & three more #'s for newer Softails . That's were it gets confusing.

Certainly is confusing! Some of that could be down to bearings, if fitted. While touring bikes went to 1" around 2002, the other models only followed later. I know that 00-07 Softails stayed with 3/4" and the MoCo went metric in 08, which can explain some of those #s, but not all!
I am expecting, from the experience of the FatBoy wheel people I know here in the UK, that I may have to drill out the centre of the hub of my Deuce wheel. It comes with 3/4" bearings installed, but 1" should fit. The larger hole is needed to get the 1" space through the hub. Fortunately it is not a critical diameter!
I keep mentioning that Deuce wheel! I gave up on the seller of the first one and am now waiting for a second one to cross the Atlantic.
