My friend is looking at buying a streetglide and the price he told me for a used buy i thought was outrageous. The dealer wants 18.900 for a used 2011 streetglide 103 bone stock. It was a rental and has 10K mi on it already. I thought the price seemed like the same price as a new one. They compared it to KBB but the KBB retail value is based on average miles of riders and they say the bike would have an average of 1450mi on the bike.

What kind of price do you think he should get on this used bike? I said about $14-15K.

 

I don't think he will get it for $14-15K but $19k seems a bit steep to me.

$17-17500 would be the range I would think.

 

My fiancé just bought a brand new 2011 Street Glide 96 CU for $18000.00. I wouldn't pay more than about 16500.00 for a rental with 10K miles on it. The thing about the rental is you don't know how hard all those rentals rode it.

does it even come with a warranty ?

 

Dealer is always going to try & bend the buyer over so $18.9's off by a bit. I'd say dirtracin23's pretty close to what I'd offer.

..I would think for sure that it will have a warranty, but I personally would stay way away from that deal due to it being a rental, lots of different riding styles applied to that motor, some may have lugged it in 6th etc...if it were in the $16,500 range it might be worth taking a chance on, but not at nearly $19K...might as well get new at that point...

 

I've seen a lot of new bikes i nthe 21-22k range. Not saying it's worth 18k, but I'll bet they don't sell it for a lot less than that.

More importantly, why the hell would you let a friend buy a rental bike?
