Rode up to FC last weekend (5 hour ride from Atl) and Melinda and her daughter couldn't have been more nicer. They brought out the size that they measured and it took me 2.5 hours to decide on which one I wanted. I was torn between the Vented Racing jacket and the Reflector, she said just take them both and I'll charge you for one and send the one you don't want back at your earliest convenience. I was floored that she offered to do that in this day and age. IMO can't go wrong with them...
The lower price Vanson jackets are made in South America, but the rest of the Vanson line is still U.S. made, and still very high quality.
According to Vanson, all the jackets are now made in El Salvador. In years gone by, the Vanson website was full of patriotic flags and proudly stated that the products were produced in the U.S. Not anymore. Now, they talk about the "American heritage", and "American design" of the product...
I have made-in-the-USA Vanson leather jackets and they are top-notch, as are yours. I also have an El Salvadoran made Vent Max that is very well made.
Don't part with the jackets you have if you value "Made in America", as any replacement will surely be "Made in Central America" (El Salvador).
Another one to check is www.stonelakeleatherworks.com He has some good looking jackets. I have a pair of the bibs with about 8 yrs on them now. I LOVE THEM!! money well spent.
