Default Removing PCV

Lately my bike's been running crappy. I'm thinking about taking the PCV off. I have Jackpot Dyno Tuned mufflers and a SE air cleaner. I'm wondering if I leave the O2 eliminator plugs installed, will the engine run a lower AFR in closed loop even without the PCV installed? Thanks

Default Seems to me

the bike will revert to the factory map that's in your ECM (lean) It is designed to run open/closed with the O2 sensors installed. It will however run very lean at the low end and high end without the sensors working. If the bike is running crappy with the PCV then try installing another map that resembles your setup. I had to uninstall and reinstall a map on mine once after the PCV had a conniption fit.

Just put a new map in your PC-V. Much easier on your bike to say the least.

You could take the PCV off to see if the bike runs better without to determine if you have a problem with the PCV. When you leave the O2 eliminators on the bike, it just makes the ECM think that AFR is 14.6 all the time. The bike would revert to the stock map or whatever map is in the ECM and you would effectively be turning off the adaptive fuel value function of the ECM/O2 sensor loop.

Do the O2 eliminators have any effect on the ECM?

If you got the PCV from Fuel Moto, why don't you call Jamie and dicuss your problems with him before you just throw the PCV in the trash.

If you are dead set on throwing it in the trash, I'll take it. I'll even pay the shipping.

Before I got the PC-V and dyno tuned, I have NightRider's XIED. After the O2 eliminators, decided to keep the XIEDs in place. In case something happens to the PC-V, I can revert back to the O2 hook ups w/ XIEDs connected. This way I can still ride the bike without running too lean.

BTW, I am using Jackpot dyno tuned pipes and SE air cleaner as well.

i always love these threads, bike runs like crapp im removing the pc,wow maybe u should remove every sensor and every part of the fuel and electrical system? if it aint running right find out why and whats causing it,if u remove the pcv just to trouble shoot running it for a few miles(with the sensors in use) wont do any damage.more than likley u will eventually find a sensor going bad or out of adjustment.

I hooked up the O2 sensors and ran the bike without the PCV today. bike ran about the same, so I'm gonna put the PCV back on and let the dealer have a look at it. Thanks for the replies.
