Default Installed The Sundowner Very Happy!

Sold the air ride seat and just installed my new Sundowner. I haven't hadn't a chance to log any long trips yet but so far I love it. The seat dropped me down and put me back some. I don't feel like i'm partially straddling the tank anymore, it's the perfect fit for me at 6'2". I was suprised the seat DIDN'T come with the rear mounting tab though, that kinda sucked because I didn't even think about taking the one off the air ride seat figured the new owner would want something he could bolt right on. The funny thing is I recently installed a new HD touring seat on on a 2000 Road King and that seat came with the mounting tab. Anyhow I'm very pleased with my Sundowner the better half even likes it better than the air ride seat.

Bought a Sundowner earlier this year and it came with the tab. Great seat.

The seat HAS to come with the mounting tab. No ifs, ands or buts about it. Somehow, it got thru QC undetected. In any case, march yourself down to the dealership or call the supplier and let them know. They should make it right.

Mine didn't come with a mounting tab. Changing it over was no big deal. Seat is very comfortable, but wait a few months... The stitching will start coming apart and HD won't do a darn thing about it.

My seat, although comfortable, after 5,000 miles is separating at the seams and looks like hell. I'll never buy another Sundowner.

I got my Sundowner several months ago and I really like it. It's a little lower than stock and sits me farther back than the Reach seat I had on it. It came with a rear mounting tab. I agree with FenderGuy-it would be a law suit waiting to happen if it wasn't attached.

I know it would've been really nice if it had came with one but it didn't. I thought maybe they either left it out by accident or it fell out of the box during shipping. However the instruction sheet that came with the seat stated the following.

"step 1 remove existing seat from motorcycle according to service manual instructions. Note the hardware sequence for the reinstallation. Save all attached hardware."

"Step 2 Attach new seat with hardware saved in step 1"

Would be nice if they told you that when you ordered this model of seat lol!!!!

I had no idea the Sundowner put you a bit lower, I might like that, although my reach is good with the stock seat. Wonder if it sets lower than a stock 2010??
